Starting with a keynote session from Pastor Chris Carr followed by a wide range of engaging, practical breakout topics, you will explore how the gospel shapes relationships, communication, decision-making, and discipleship within the home.

    Every marriage faces moments of tension, misunderstanding, and hurt—but the gospel offers hope for lasting peace and unity. This breakout will explore how Christ’s love transforms the way we speak, listen, and resolve conflict in marriage. We’ll address common communication challenges, uncover heart issues that fuel conflict, and learn practical, grace-filled ways to pursue reconciliation. Participants will gain biblical tools, real-life encouragement, and additional resources to strengthen communication and deepen intimacy in their marriage.

    In a world dominated by screens, how do we follow Christ faithfully in our digital habits? This breakout will explore the spiritual and relational impact of technology on our hearts, families, and discipleship. Through a gospel-centered lens, we’ll address common challenges like distraction, comparison, and digital addiction—and discover practical ways to cultivate wisdom, rest, and purpose in our screen time. You’ll leave encouraged with biblical insights, discussion tools for families, and recommended resources for ongoing growth.

  • With Tony & Sarah Esslinger, Chad & Natalie Kuntz

    Raising children to know and love Jesus is both a great joy and a daily challenge. This gospel-centered breakout will equip parents to make discipleship a natural part of family life—shaping hearts, not just managing behavior. We’ll address common obstacles like busyness, distraction, and discouragement, while exploring practical, biblical ways to teach, model, and nurture faith in everyday moments.

    Few pains cut deeper than watching a son or daughter walk away from the Lord. This breakout will offer comfort, perspective, and hope for parents of prodigals—reminding us that God’s grace is greater than our heartbreak. We’ll explore how to pray faithfully, love wisely, and trust God’s sovereignty in seasons of waiting and sorrow. Participants will find biblical encouragement, shared stories of hope, and practical resources to sustain faith and perseverance as they entrust their children to our patient Father.

    Adoption is a beautiful reflection of the gospel, and this session will encourage and equip adoptive and foster families by addressing the unique joys and challenges of the adoption journey. We’ll explore biblical foundations for adoption, practical ways to navigate emotional and relational complexities, and how the hope of Christ sustains families through it all. Participants will gain insight, community support, and trusted resources to help them walk this calling with faith and endurance.

This breakout will help families understand how emotional health impacts their relationships, communication, and spiritual growth. Grounded in Christ’s example, this session offers guidance, encouragement, and resources to nurture emotionally resilient, gospel-centered homes.

    The teenage years bring new questions, challenges, and opportunities for spiritual growth. This session will help parents guide teens toward a faith that’s real, resilient, and rooted in Christ. We’ll explore how to connect with teens’ hearts, engage their doubts, and navigate cultural pressures through a biblical lens. You’ll hear practical strategies, encouragement for the journey, and recommended resources to help you disciple teens with wisdom, patience, and gospel hope.

  • Walking with aging parents through the later seasons of life can be both a privilege and a profound challenge. This breakout will offer biblical wisdom and encouragement for honoring parents while navigating the emotional, relational, and practical complexities of caregiving. We’ll discuss how the hope of Christ shapes our patience, compassion, and decision-making, even in difficult moments. Join us for scriptural guidance, real-life encouragement, and helpful resources for caring well with grace and faithfulness.

  • Singleness is not a season to merely endure but a calling to embrace for God’s glory and our joy in Christ. This session will explore the unique opportunities and challenges of single life through a biblical lens. We’ll consider how the gospel shapes our identity and frees us to serve God wholeheartedly in every stage of life. Come and be encouraged and resourced to live out singleness with faith and fulfillment in Christ.

    Blended families face unique joys and challenges as they navigate new relationships, expectations, and dynamics. This session will explore how Christ’s grace can bring unity, healing, and hope amid the complexities of stepfamily life. Participants will gain biblical insight, real-life stories and encouragement, and helpful resources for pursuing a Christ-honoring family culture.

    Navigating medical decisions can be complex and emotionally charged for families. This breakout will provide a biblical framework for approaching family planning and healthcare choices with wisdom, integrity, and faith. We’ll address common ethical challenges, explore how God’s Word guides our considerations, and discuss practical ways to honor Him in medical decisions.

  • Marriage reflects God’s design when spouses embrace their unique roles and work together in unity. This gospel-centered breakout will explore how men and women can complement one another in ways that honor God, strengthen intimacy, and foster mutual respect. We’ll address common challenges and offer practical, biblical strategies to cultivate a marriage that reflects Christ’s love for us.

  • With Logan & Annie Torrance

    Dating is more than finding the right person—it’s an opportunity to grow in Christlikeness and prepare for a God-honoring marriage. This session will explore what the Bible teaches about love, honoring God, and intentional dating. We’ll address common challenges like cultural pressure and practices, and confusion about God’s design, offering guidance for pursuing relationships with wisdom and integrity.

  • With Dan & Jonna Dingus

    Retirement may close a career, but it opens a new season of questions and opportunities. This breakout will explore how to embrace this stage of life with intentionality, joy, and spiritual vitality. We’ll address challenges such as identity shifts, loss of routine, and finding meaningful engagement, while discovering biblical ways to serve, grow, and impact others for God’s glory. Participants will leave encouraged, equipped, and resourced to glorify God as they live out their faith with passion and purpose in retirement.

    Parenting doesn’t end when children become adults, but guiding them with love and wisdom requires a new approach. This breakout will explore how to support, counsel, and encourage adult children while respecting their independence and God-given responsibilities. We’ll address common challenges such as differing life choices, conflict, and relational tension, offering biblical principles for patient guidance and prayerful influence.

    Planning for the end of life can be a profound act of love for family and friends. This breakout will guide participants through biblical principles for making thoughtful, faith-filled end-of-life decisions. We’ll address common emotional and practical challenges, including difficult conversations, legacy considerations, and stewardship of resources, all through the lens of God’s grace. Participants will gain encouragement, practical guidance, and resources to create a plan that honors Christ and blesses loved ones.

FAQ

  • This conference is geared for mature teens and anyone older. Our desire is for participants to be able to focus on God’s Word in all sessions, so we ask that you make other arrangements for children.

  • Childcare is not provided at the conference but during registration, parents can request a stipend to help relieve some of the childcare costs they may have to attend the conference.

  • Yes. You can transfer your registration to another person by emailing info@harmonybiblechurch.org or calling 319-237-8400 and sharing the recipient’s name and contact information.

  • Registration fees are refundable any time before February 14th, 2026. After that date, we are required to cover the ordered box lunches and are unable to provide a refund. If you can’t attend, you are still welcome to transfer your registration to a friend or family member.

  • Yes. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve our church family! Volunteers are needed as event hosts, food & drink, and maintenance. Our volunteers will receive free registration to attend the conference. You can apply to volunteer during registration or by emailing info@harmonybiblechurch.org.
