Kayla's Cupboard is a food pantry located in the South Hill neighborhood in Burlington, Iowa created in memory of Kayla Atkins.
Kayla had a passion for people, fueled by her love of Jesus Christ, and it was her dream to open up a soup kitchen in the back of her Mom’s salon to serve those with the greatest need in Burlington.
Following her freshman year of college, Kayla was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away at the age of 21 in 2012.
Harmony Bible Church opened up Kayla’s Cupboard in 2014 as a place for those in need to receive food assistance in the name of Jesus Christ. The space Kayla once dreamed of serving the community through is doing just that: Kayla’s Cupboard now serves those in need in Burlington & the surrounding area.
MOST NEEDED ITEMS:
Shampoo & conditioner
On the first Sunday of every month, we have Communion with Community. On these Sundays we take communion as church and encourage everyone to bring items to donate to the community. Most months we are asking for donations for Kayla’s Cupboard!
