What is a Bible Church Anyway?

Harmony Bible Church came into existence as an independent, evangelical church in 1957. As the name states, Harmony is a Bible church. Even though there are Bible churches all over this nation and in many foreign countries, many people are still unclear about what exactly a Bible church is.

First of all, a Bible church does not rely on tradition, culture or creeds to determine its form, functions or beliefs. We strive to base all our doctrine and practices on biblical principles alone. Also, a Bible church is autonomous and self-governed. This means that the people of the church choose their own pastors and leaders, and that the church is free to follow God's Word without outside interference or authority.

We observe two ordinances which are believer's baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper. Since we are non-denominational, everyone who has trusted Christ as Savior is welcome to participate in our Communion services.

We hold firmly to the foundational truth of Christianity that has been taught for 2,000 years. We are committed to teaching the Word of God in a clear and relevant way

We Love it out here in the cornfields!
