Mission
20/20 Vision Campaign

Our World as seen through God's Eyes

A globally-impacting, joy-unleashing capital campaign

The Goal

The financial goal of the 20.20 Vision is to raise $1.5 million in 18 months above and beyond giving to the general budget of Harmony Bible Church through prayerful, sacrificial and faith-filled giving. As the money for this campaign is raised, it will and is being immediately deployed toward two targets...

1. Global Impact Fund to be used for local and global compassion projects

2. Unleashing future funds through an early payoff of our mortgage, freeing HBC

from an annual mortgage payment and saving over $550,000 in interest

            payments.

After 20.20, a substantial portion of mortgage payments can be rerouted into the

global impact fund to empower HBC to invest nearly $5 million in various global

areas of need in the decade to come.

How it will work:

The monies collected will be put toward debt retirement and the global impact fund at a rate of 75% toward debt retirement, 25% toward the global impact fund. When the debt is retired, 100% of the monies raised will go toward the global impact fund.

**Note: $1 million would pay off the remaining debt if we maintain our regular mortgage payments from Nov '08 through May '10. If we reach $1.5 million target before May '10 all monies collected from the 20.20 will continue to be proportioned at a 3:1 ratio until the debt is retired at which point 100% of the funds collected will go into the global impact fund.

Compassion Projects

A total of 212 water units were sent all around the world in 2009, providing clean drinking water to hundreds of thousands of people in need!

 Overview of Compassion Projects

Haiti, April 2009: More than half of the eight million people living in Haiti don't have access to clean water. Harmony Bible Church purchased and sent 10 chlorine producing units 6 water units were distributed in Jacmel. Six local pastors were trained to use the chlorine producing units and when they return to their communities, provide clean drinking water for the first time ever! Working alongside an organization called Mission of Hope the other 4 water units were placed. Two were given to pastors in remote mountain villages and the final two were placed in orphanages.

Tanzania, June 2009: In Tanzania, a large proportion of the population cannot access safe water. Women & children are forced to walk for hours to collect water that is often diseased. Twenty water units were constructed, purchased & were distributed by Harmony members.

Myanmar, July 2009: One year after Cyclone Nargis devastated the coastal region of Myanmar (Burma), and claimed 138,000 lives, enormous challenges remain in restoring livelihoods & water sources. Clean safe water is still a challenge to find. Harmony Bible Church working alongside Asian Tribal Ministries was able to take 80 water units and distribute them throughout rural villages to continue to aid those recovering.

Niger, September 2009: Niger is considered one of the world's least developed countries. It has high infant, child and maternal mortality rates as there is limited access to sanitation facilities and clean water. Harmony was able to send 21 water units and train local Christian leaders in how to use them to bring life saving clean water to people living in rural outlying areas.

Asia, November 2009: Typhoon Ketsana struck several SE Asia countries displacing hundreds of thousands of residents in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Residents there have been left without shelter, food or access to clean drinking water. Harmony Bible sent 80 water units directly into these hard hit regions. Funding of the water units was raised through the second annual 12:1 run held at Harmony in October, where 300 people ran with the desire to aid our neighbors in other parts of the world.

Matthew 10:42 "And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."
